Plainview Stables, Inc., is located in Belton, Missouri, just south of Kansas City & is owned by Gary and Kathy Miller. We have been in this location for over 45 years.
PVS was at one time a breeding, training, showing and teaching facility whose owners have a keen knowledge of the horse industry and vast experience in many fields of the horse business.
Our success in the business include training and showing national and state Cutting Horse Champions.
We campaigned the top Appaloosa in the Nation in the North American Trail Ride Association for 2 years, earned the title of World Champion Horsemanship Rider and Reserve World Champion Horsemanship Rider respectively.
The better part of the last 40 years has been spent in the American Paint Horse Association. We have held various offices in the Missouri Paint Horse Club and the MO-Kan Paint Horse Club. Kathy is the past-president and Gary and Kathy have been directors for the MPHC. Both Gary & Kathy served as National Directors to the American Paint Horse Association for many years. Kathy served on the board of the Missouri Equine Council for several years.
We have trained & campaigned 2 Superior All-Around Champions, over 50 APHA Champions, APHA World Champions, both horse & rider, Top Ten APHA Champions, PtHA National Champions and many more.
We held judge’s cards in 7 different Breed Associations & held various offices within these different breeds. We have judged in every state in the United States except Alaska & Hawaii, Canada many time, Germany 3 times, Denmark, & Norway. We have visited Brussels, Belgium, Paris, France & London, England. It has taken us all over the World.
We retired from judging in December, 2015, we are now enjoying one of our first loves, trail riding. We have ridden all over this United States, as far north as Alaska & as far south as Half Moon Cay.
We are still boarding horses & have a great group of owners.

The History of Plainview Stables, Inc.
How I Got My Start
I was horse crazy from birth. I got my first horse at age 7. Dad bought me a horse so I would stop running around the house whinnying. I rode with Roy Knapp's Rough Riders during my formative years. Gary rode his horse to school & his dad built a barn at the school. His horse would stay in the stall & then he would ride home after school. We have literally been involved with horses our whole lives. When we got together, the result was Plainview Stables, Inc.
